Our Kitchen Cafe
The Kitchen serves freshly cooked breakfast, lunch, light snacks, hot & cold refreshments and of course our large range of home baked cakes. As well as our core seasonal menu we have home-cooked specials to look out for.
We are a licensed café offering a drink with your meal (or even with your cake!).
Everything in our kitchen is made from scratch and has that homecooked taste. At the Heron we don’t offer ‘fast food’; we serve freshly made food as fast as we can.

Please see our cake cabinet for today’s selection of homemade cakes, including scones baked fresh every morning, traybakes, sponge and loaf cakes, biscuits, cheesecake, meringues and speciality cakes.
Our cakes are home-baked every day here in the Heron kitchen by our baking team. Using no cake mixes or preservatives, our cakes are made from scratch from family recipes and new ones which we have found and love. We use Park Farm milk and double cream, real butter and Corrie Mains Farm free range eggs in our baking.
Gluten Free Options Available
Our gluten-free cakes are sourced from dedicated GF bakeries to ensure these are suitable for a coeliac diet.
If you have a food allergy or a special dietary requirement please inform a member of our team for assistance and advice on ingredients used in our meals.
All our meals and cakes (except our GF cakes) are freshly prepared on our premises, where nuts, mustard, soya, celery, fish, shellfish, sulphites and gluten/wheat are used.
Cosy and comfortable atmosphere
Take in the breath taking views across the fields from our café area and choose whether to cosy up near to our wood burning-stove, perfect for those autumn or winter days, or make use of our outdoor seating area to enjoy the fresh air.
Dogs welcome
The Heron is dog friendly - we have reinstated an allocated seating area indoors for customers with dogs, or you are welcome to make use of our outdoor seating area, where we have created covered ‘dog pods’. Please bring your dog round the left of the building to our designated dog access door rather than through our food shop.
