Get organised for Christmas: order from our range of festive food – turkey, goose, wild game and other festive joints and all the trimmings – with the reassurance that all our festive favourites have been carefully selected from farms with good provenance, animal welfare standards and quality. Having to plan a smaller Christmas this year? We have several options including venison, pheasant, duck and goose.
Start with our homemade ham hough terrine and top it off with a dessert from our home-baked range, all made to order here in the Heron kitchen – the perfect end to Christmas Dinner!

Our turkeys are supplied by Damn Delicious where Michael’s Norfolk Black Turkeys are reared in the woodland around the farm in Thankerton, Biggar. All of our trimmings – pork chipolatas, stuffing and gammon joints are supplied by Puddledub from pork reared on the Mitchell’s own farm in Fife. Our wild game is sourced from Woodmill Game; 100% of the game is wild (never farmed), sourced through their own family deer stalking and game bird businesses.
We’ve added lots of new festive products to the farm shop so why not come and choose some goodies to be made into a hamper, browse our range of premade hampers or simply treat yourself!
Gift vouchers are also available which can be used in our cafe and farm shop and we’ve removed the expiry date – an ideal Christmas present or stocking filler!
Our Christmas trees are available to buy now. We would recommend you put up your tree the weekend of 5th/6th Dec at earliest but do understand that this year in particular we all want Christmas to start early….please note that trees need to be watered regularly, kept away from a heat source, and that real trees brought indoors early in December may not last until New Year…. Norway Spruce do drop needles earlier than the Nordman Fir (but their beautiful smell and shape are my personal favourite!) so should be put up nearer to Christmas. Please make your food-to-order selection from the form attached below, and email back to us at firstname.lastname@example.org, drop in your form to the farm shop (open 7 days 9-5pm as usual during the Level 4 restrictions) or call us to discuss and place your order. We will process your wishlist, and then will call you to confirm your order and take payment. Turkeys in particular need to be ordered early as there are limited numbers available from our farmer/supplier.
